This is a survey course in organizational behavior designed to give you exposure to essential theories and concepts for analyzing, understanding, and managing human behavior in organizations. In this course, we will tie concrete organizational situations (as reflected in cases) to essential theories and effective management practices. In this course, you will investigate:
- Individual behavior in organizations, including personality, decision-making, personal networks, and ethics.
- Interpersonal behavior, including teamwork, conflict, leadership, and power and influence.
- Organizational factors affecting behavior, including reward systems, culture, and organizational design.

This course is independent study and is self-paced. Students have five months upon registration in which to complete all coursework and exams.
Textbooks and Materials
All materials for this course (readings, cases, practice problems and quizzes, etc.) have been embedded electronically within the UT Canvas learning management system. Before you can access the materials, you must pay for your materials via a portal within the course (cost is approximately $135). No additional bookstore fees are required.
Technical Requirements
Students are required to use a laptop or desktop computer with a high-speed internet connection. Tablets and smartphones are not supported. The computer should have a modern and updated operating system, at least 2GB of RAM, a webcam, a microphone and also meet Honorlock's system requirements for online testing.
An introduction to the management of organizations. Issues are addressed from the perspectives of strategy and planning, organizational behavior, and operations management.
